Łódź isn’t slowing down! A plan is forming to try to organize another great event.

Łódź has tried to win the rights to organize the EXPO 2022 and failed. The honor went to Argentina. The country has won with just a slight advantage. International EXPO in Buenos Aires will be open from 15th January to 15th April 2023. Its main theme? Creative industries, just like the original submission indicated.

What does it mean for Łódź? It has been assured that the city will not suffer from defeat. Investments in infrastructure are still going to happen because they’re essential for the city’s development. It has to be stressed that taking second place when trying  for such a prestigious event isn’t a reason for despair. The energy that has already been put into the project won’t go to waste. Łódź is changing for the better. Programs responsible for revitalization will not lose financing.

The tie with Argentina has left a taste for more. Defeat has brought an important lesson and the right conclusions have been drawn. There’s also the fact that organization of Horticultural EXPO 2024 is right around the corner… City of Łódź wants to use the positive energy and international publicity it received in the past couple of months. What matters most is to go with the flow!
